Breakfast is served in our
room at 7:30am.: egg benedict, musli and yogurt, local nectarines
with orange juice and coffee. Then we are ready for the road.
However, after riding just a couple of kilometers, we stop to buy
some fresh fruits at one of the stalls lining the road.
-
We have a pleasant head wind
as we cruise through the gorgeous Kawarau Gorge.
Believe it or not, but the
oncoming traffic is occasionally heavy.

We head upstream the Kawarau
River, and stop every now and then to take pictures.

Cafe Mondo in Arrowtown has
nice artwork on walls.
-
Another streetview of
Arrowtown.

Ride down from Arrowtown to
Queenstown consists of steep uphills and downhills. There are
also several one-lane bridges to cross.
-
View to Wakatipu Lake from
our room at Lakeside Motel (NZ$139) , Queenstown.

We start the evening with
Emerson Brewery's beers (from Dunedin) at Atlas Beer Cafe: IPA and
bitter. Later we return for Belgian style duppel and porter. In
between we have some tapas in Vudu.
Today we ride (only) 65.56K
in 4:56'51 (avg 13.2kph, max 45.5kph) Surprisingly hard day ---
perhaps it was the head wind and sporadic steep climbs in the end.
