This Thursday’s (8.10.) afternoon getaway took us to the Vercors, and the sightseeing platform of Vertige-des-Cimes, which we had visited once before in May last year. This time there was less snow (although the first snow this Fall had already fallen in September). We don’t usually go for hiking in the afternoon, but leave in the morning and return in the afternoon, so we were quite surprised how many people were out there. The trail was by no means crowded but we saw tens of people on the skislopes of Montagnes de Lans. This was a perfect way to spend this warm afternoon with a lot of sunshine — it actually felt like Spring: birds singing, nature not yet (anymore) green, the air still (already) a bit chilly, but the sun made it quite warm at places.
