We didn’t have any exceptional culinary adventures on this vacation. As planned, we ate a lot of fresh and hot smoked fish, with potatoes or in salads. We cooked a lot, but also bought microwave meals for lunches, such as the beef soup below:
We also ate a couple of times in a restaurant, one of them being Kamalig, Filipino Eatery in Hietalahti Market Hall in Helsinki: Chicken Adobo and Chicken Kalderata. It is kind of funny that we lived in the SE Asia for five years, and never visited Philippines (or Laos) , so we were not that familiar with Philippine cuisine. The last picture is the gourmet platter we enjoyed at Charles de Gaulle before boarding the train to Grenoble.
Most of the ready-made meals we bought we enjoyed on trains or airplanes, though. Here we had salmon and falafel bowls on our return flight:
