After finishing a marathon in Madrid two weeks ago and an eight kilometer race here on Friday, we opt for a hike instead of a long run on this sunny Sunday (officially we are again on a training plan for the UT4M mountain marathon that’s going to happen in late August). We take the tram (15mins) to La Poya and start climbing from 220 meters to Ferme Durand at 850 meters, which we reach in an hour and a half (4.25km). It’s a pretty steep ascent; occasionally we need to go on all fours.
The pic above left shows where we are heading to; first up and then around the rocks in the upper right corner (I think we’ve already climbed some 200 meters, so we have a bit more than 400 meters to go, vertically.
This is Ferme Durand at 850 meters, and the view to Belledonne, and the Isère valley below.
When out of the woods we have a lunch break by a waterfall and a WWII memorial (one of the many around this area).
This small lizard is quite plump.
