I don’t remember there having been so much rain, and so many days under a thick cloud cover (and inversion!) in December in any of the previous eight years as there has been this year. Earlier this week we had two straight days of heavy rain that caused flooding in low lying areas. The rain caused the rivers coming down from the Chartreuse range to grow out of their beds, and take new directions. One of them brought rocks and other debris down and caused major havoc in the funicular station in the next village.
Here are some videos I took yesterday morning of our river Craponoz and the waterfall of Crolles (actually several waterfalls), just a couple of kilometers away.
